Topics will include nings, international shared writing, Twitter, ereaders, Skype/videoconferencing, Voicethread, Glogster, using social networking for continuing professional development and many others. .
Benefits of attending:
• Increased knowledge of new technology
• Learn how to use technology to have an impact on teaching and learning
• Hear from a popular children’s author about how he uses technology to promote reading to young people
• Learn how web 2.0 can make the job of getting young people to read and write much easier – and more fun!
We are very lucky to have children’s author Tommy Donbavand (@tommydonbavand) presenting at this seminar, along with Dai Barnes (@daibarnes) an inspiring teacher who is very experienced at using online media with learners, Caroline Roche (@carolineroche) a school librarian and proficient blogger and twitterer (!), Nicola McNee (@NicolaMcNee) librarian and enthusiastic user of glogster, igoogle etc and Bev Humphrey (@LibWithAttitude) LRC Manager/Learning Gateway Coordinator and founder of the Write Path, an international collaborative writing project. We are confident that everyone that attends will go away with at least two new ideas to use in school – please do look presenters up on Twitter to get an idea of their focus and enthusiasm for new medias.
