Christ the King Completes their Stories

Once again the 12 students from Christ the King had a fantastic time continuing the six stories began by the authors. In pairs they brainstormed what might happen next then began the writing process. As usual there was a mad rush at the end to complete their paragraphs and hopefully they have done a good job. Good luck to the next school and have fun! Thanks Bev.Sarah CTK AustraliaSee More

What a great activity!

The students had a great time firstly reading all the initial paragraphs then deciding which story they would continue. We encouraged each team to write a draft then edit but naturally they all wanted to dive straight in. There was much busy activity and creative writing and hopefully the stories will now continue to grow. Interestingly, the students wanted to dictate the next part of the story, they didn't quite get that they now have no more control over what was written next. A process of…See More

Hi there Sarah
I was as nervous as anything last year when we did it for the first time. I was terrified I was going to be the school who got it wrong!! But it was so easy and straight forward in the end. It could have been due to the fact that I kept bombarding poor Bev with constant questions! LOL Anyway, I would suggest that you have 12 students and pair them up. Give them a writing framework and also print off some of last years opening paragraphs to give them practice in the weeks leading up to the event. On the day, if you can, get yourself some IT support just in case there are any glitches that need ironing out. Then when its your turn I would copy and paste into word the paragraph you follow and let them work on it, allowing yourself time before your hour is up to proof read. then it's just a case of copying and pasting back on to the comments in the blog. As the kids would say, 'easy peasy'! If you have any more questions just drop me a line. I am visiting the primary school next week and would like to take something with me to show them your school and where you are in the world. Is there any links you could send me or even a photo of your students?
Anita
