Kris knew this day was going to be a weird one from the moment he could no longer see his own hands.

One minute they were there; the right one gripping a stubby pencil and defacing his maths exercise book; the left one rapping out a beat with its fingers to the song inside his head. The next minute he could not see them at all.

Panic lurched through his heart as the class went on doing long division all around him. What was this? Some kind of migraine? His mum had them sometimes and said half her vision went funny.

But he could still see the maths book very clearly. And everyone else in the room. It was just that... his hands were missing.

As the bell rang everyone rushed out... except Kris. He sat there wondering, "Why am I here?" and, " What's the point?" As he was walking out a group of guys looked over and said here comes handless!" Kris ran as fast as he could out of the parking lot.

He started to weep and when he was walking home his friend Brittany ran up and said,"What meanies they are,  right?"

"Yeah" Kris said, but then they stumbled upon something horrible it was...

...the realisation that it wasn't just his hands that had seemed to disappear. Whatever it was had seemed to spread and now as he looked down he couldn't see his feet or half his legs. It wasn't as if they had gone, just vanished from sight.

Kris banged his feet on the ground. Yes, they were definitely still there, still attached to the rest of his body just invisible.

Suddenly a wave a naseau swept over him and he realised his head was dripping in sweat. Stumbling forward he managed to find an alleyway, and just in time as his stomach heaved and his breakfast made a reappearance.

Bent over, gasping, Kris couldn't bear to open his eyes. Maybe it was all just a mistake, maybe he was seeing things. Slowly he prised them open, and looked down hoping it would look different from the last time he had looked at his legs. And it did, the only problem was instead of just not being able to see his feet there didn't seem to be anything there!

All of a sudden everything went black as he stumbled and passed out in top of a pile of rubbish bags...

Still lying in the rubbish, Kris awoke to a dull thud pounding in his head. He blinked and his vision sharpened. He looked down at his feet and to his relief they’d reappeared, along with the rest of his body.

Glancing around, he realised that he was no longer on the road near his school. There were dusty floors and whitewashed, stone buildings towering over him. It seemed he’d walked straight into one of the towns in his Greek mythology books.

“Oi you!” thundered a harsh voice, which grated like sand. Kris stumbled to his feet, snapping his head to the side to locate the yell.

“Who, me?” he asked innocently. A dark shadow loomed over him and cautiously Kris looked up to find a singular, colossal, bloodshot eye with vein-blue irises glaring down at him. A bright glimmer in the corner of Kris’ eye caught his attention and his gaze flicked away to find a golden fleece carelessly flung over his shoulder.

“Hang on.” The pieces slotted into place and Kris clicked his fingers, pointing at the Cyclops. “You’re Polyphemus. Oh my gods, that is so cool.”

Polyphemus growled, vibrating the ground like an earthquake. Kris took the hint and swivelled on his heels, darting away from the Cyclops; the fleece flapping like a cape in the wind created by his speed. The town unfolded before him as he ran.

Sprinting for his life, he came up to a dead end! Examining the area, he looked frantically for a way out. Pacing up and down, a glimpse of a rubbish bin caught his eye. He scrambled into the bin and pushed the bin bag out, closing the lid after. Just as he thought he was safe, he heard the Cyclops coming.  With the revolting smell, curdling his stomach, he felt his heart beating like a drum. As the Cyclops searched he was shaking like a leaf in the wind, with his hand in his mouth. Even though he doesn’t believe in God, he was praying silently for his life. Just as he was about to finish his prayer, the Cyclops took of the lid of the bin which he was hiding in…..

“Help, help!” shouted Kris shaking to his toes. “Oh shut up, you never could stand up for yourself could you?” said a mysterious figure which had a voice like Brittany’s” At that moment everything went black...  Before he knew it he was back at home... Brittany had taken him.

“It was just a dream?” sighed Kris thankfully. “Stupid boy, you really have no clue!” laughed Brittany, she was dressed in black and looked very evil, and Kris jumped in fear. “Where’s my mum?!!” Shouted Kris. Brittany kissed her teeth “let’s just say part of hers missing, ahaha!”

“It was you, all you!”  Said Kris ‘’ The penny‘s finally dropped’’ Brittany clapped. Kris knew she let it all happen “I’ve been bullied because of you? All this time you’ve caused my life misery.”

“I’m just getting back what you’ve stolen!” wailed Brittany. “Wha…what?” said Kris confused. “Lucy.” Replied Brittany. “My mum?” asked Kris. “NO Kris, my mum. She left me because of you; she didn’t want twins, why do you think we don’t like beans why do we share the same birthday? Do you ever just wonder?! Well it look like half of you was missing and half of me was missing  now its complete were brothers and sisters, that’s why I’ve taken mum cause I needed to hint  that half of you was gone” . Kris shook his head and thought…”MUM WHERE IS SHE?”. “Here, I’m sorry, I couldn’t.” “YOU? My best friend whose now my sister AND my OWN mum?”

So, he kept dashing dashing away from the cyclops. He turned around and discovered that the cyclops was following him. The cyclops grabbed Kris with is gigantic claws, and Kris could not get away. Kris's eyes had played tricks on him and he became invisible. So with his invisibility and powers, he was able to defeat the monster and save the town.
