The lift was speeding up.

She wasn't imagining it. The lift was definitely accelerating. That wasn't all. It was the heat. As the lift rose ever upwards, Eve and her two friends were clawing at their throats and mopping their brows. It was as if they were on fire. That's when a silvery haze filled the lift and they howled in terror. But what were those dark shapes in the blazing light?

Before Eve could reach out to touch the shapes, they disintegrated, and she was falling, back into reality.  She wakes up, sweating profusely, in and oddly hot, dark room.  She sits straight up and adjusts her eyes to realize the room is engulfed in flames.  She hastily jumps out of her make-shift bed and searches the room for an escape.  Struggling to breathe, she sprints to the only hope for escape, a small window, and scans the room for something to break it.

As she searched she thought of using parts of her makeshift bed.

Eve looked down to see a pit of lava seeping up through the floor. She threw down one of her pillows to cover it  and saw it burn to dust.

Her heart   kept on dropping every second as the pit of lava got closer to her bed. Then out of no where the

lava started to come from the sides of the wall started to melt and burn to crisps of burnt concrete. Then Eve used her super strength to break her bed apart and threw it.Then the small window smashed into tiny blackened pieces . Like burnt charcoal from the barbeque is on. This was worse. “OMG how the hell did lava get in my room!" This isn’t even possible! I’m  not on a tropical island with an active volcano so why the hell is there lava everywhere!”. “BAM!” She heard an explosion.  She heard mum scream; saw the lights flickering. The window side wall disintegrated and fell to the ground. Looking out she remembered.. “How could I have forgotten….

Eve remembered that her fireplace was still burning when she fell asleep so it wasn’t lava it was fire, and now the carpet in her room was covered in flames. So her mother was screaming because the fire was going down the stairs and into the kitchen. Eve looked out her broken window again and without thinking she jumped out, Eve felt the flames burning on her face, it was not much of fall because she was on the first floor and she landed right into a scratchy bush which scraped her burning hot skin. So she ran in to the house to find her mother and she found her mother lying in the kitchen dead with one fried egg on each of her eyes. Eve felt a tear run down her cheek, her whole body shivered in fear and sadness and she entirely forgot that she was in a burning house and needed to get out she thought to herself: This is entirely my fault…

She bent down towards her burnt mother’s corpse. She was boiling. Eve thought to herself “how can I have been so stupid…” Eve suddenly jumped up to remember her father was stranded upstairs. Rapidly, she bolted up the stairs not realizing that it was on fire! She tumbled down. Her feet numb. Her hands stiff. Paralyzed with fear, everything started to fade away…
Waking up to the sound of sirens, eve felt her father’s hand against her cheek.
“Dad your alive!” then she realized it’s not her dad. It was firefighter. She screamed “where’s my dad!”
She tried to move but she was stuck to the floor. The firefighter figure dispersed into the smoke. She was traumatised. She was hallucinating… she was on her own again. No one to help her. As time passed on she picked up the strength to get up and figure out what has just happened…

Then she turned only to realise that the lava was almost at her feet. She sprawled around on the floor seeing that she was not alone, she sensed something behind her. At first she thought it was a dragon it was her faithful dog TIMMY! He dragged me by the leg then I saw something behind me for sure this time. It was a Roegian Ridge back. A DRAGON! It’s flaming breath warmed my back it’s thick pelt moved slowly and it’s wings sent plates flying everywhere. Now I understood. But what could I do? Nothing so far,  not without help…

A dragon? No, no it couldn't be. Dragons weren't real, they only existed in movies and books. This couldn't be a dragon. I screamed and closed my eyes, I prayed to be somewhere else.

I woke to the sound of screaming. My pillow was soaked with sweat. I was panting, what was happening? War horns sounded and the rattling of iron boots against the stone floor filled the castle.
I had been dreaming, dreaming of a strange foreign place. It was like nothing I had ever seen, surely magic was involved. But now was not the time to ponder.
I rolled out of bed and was faced by my squire, Podrick.

"Podrick" I shouted "Armour me!"
Podrick scurried to my armour stand and fetched my armour, he proceeded to strap the steel plates to my body. Podrick picked up my ornate carved helmet and placed it on my head.I was reminded why I chose him, nobody could dress a man in armour faster than Pod. My long lushious, golden locks flowed freely down my back.
"Podrick" I proclaimed "Fetch my axe!"
Podrick moved over to the corner of my chamber and took a large battleaxe from the weapons cupboard.
"Ahh Mertha, my favourite axe." I exclaimed.
I brushed Podrick asside and told him to a fetch a sword, we were going to battle. Podrick meekly picked up a chipped, rusting sword that looked two sizes, too big for him.

A dragon hadn't attacked in months, but I was ready, I was always ready.
As I was walking out towards the courtyard, I heard an awful scream. I spun around and to my horror, there lay Podrick, he had been...

dead. I kneeled down and started to move Podrick's corpse when I noticed that my armour was missing. Then Podrick's cold body disappeared. I suddenly had a vague memory and figured out that Podrick was never there, the castle was never there, and I was never there.

I jolted up from my new bed, expecting another deadly surprise. The blisters and bruises simply vanished. My mom was calling me down for breakfast. She was serving fried eggs. As I ate the delicious breakfast, I told my mom about the crazy dream I had. It was alright, it was okay, until the lift picked my two friends and I up again.
