Megan sat and stared at the computer screen. She looked and looked but the words just wouldn’t go away. How had she got herself into this mess?

She had really thought she was on top. She knew about keeping safe on line; all the things she shouldn’t do, everything she shouldn’t say, stuff she shouldn’t tell anybody. And she hadn’t done any of it – well not really.

But Gary was different. She’d been messaging him for months now and he was really nice. He told her all about himself and his family. He’d sent pictures of his house and his dog.

She thought it was quite safe. They weren’t even in the same country!

But then she’d got this message from him. He said he loved her. He wanted to meet. He was flying in today and he wanted her at the airport. What was she going to do?

This couldn't be happening she thought. For starters why would any really be in love with her. Yer, OK she wasn't awful looking but she qwasn't pretty like Jaime or Kelly in her class. And surely love was something that was a little bit more than just having had a conversation online.

It was all a mess, a mess she had no idea how to sort. She couldn't go to her mum or dad, they'd definitely kill her if they knew she'd been talking to a boy online. It has to be Daisy, she thought.

Daisy had been her bestfriend since like forever, apart from in the Yr6 when they had a massive argument over who was the best looking member of their favourite band Low Hopers. Daisy was insistent it had been Dane but Megan couldn't see why and had fiercly argued that surely it was Matt that was better looking.

It had taken them a whole term to make up. But since then their friendship had been as good as it ever had and now in Yr9 they were almost inseperable.

She picked up her phone and IM'd Daisy

"Hlp! I nd u big time! Pls come ovr!!"

An answer came back immediately...

“K chil wats up tel me da deets.”

“Dis isn’t a laughing mattr im in library.” Megan replied

Daisy replied rapidly. “K il b dare@ 10.”  Just like Daisy said she was there on the dot.”If this is about any home troubles I have my own problems!” Daisy said casually.

“You’re here to support me let’s focus on me. ”Megan’s heart dropped, as she knew she needed to tell Daisy sooner or later.

They strolled down a nearby alleyway so Megan could talk to Daisy about her dilemma.  “Why have you brought me here of all places? It smells like a burnt chippy.”

The ground was charred and the walls were oozing with black ash.  It reeked of rotting animals, the plants had no life left in them, the place was secluded with mud, it was dark and gloomy (the perfect place for Megan to talk to Daisy).   Megan’s words slurred out in a rapid motion.  “I’m extremely sorry but I’ve met this guy on the internet, he’s from another country but he wants me to meet him at the airport and I don’t want to go alone!”

“Ermm I don’t like the sound of this, there’s something fishy about this, plus, haven’t you been listening in i.c.t?!” Daisy said concerned.

“I know, I know, I made a mistake but he says he loves me!”

“Meeting people on the internet is for loners!  It’s just going to lead to trouble, it could be an old man for all we know!”

Megan sighed.

“Let’s just go home, this was a bad idea.”

As they walk into daylight, three, dark figures awaited  them...

“Daisy? Can you see that?” Megan stuttered anxiously. “err yeah, what? Do you think I’m blind; stop being a wimp; I need to get home for violin practice!” replied Daisy in a rather jokey tone. As they turned the corner they could hear footsteps behind them, and at that Megan clung onto Daisy. The sound of the footsteps began to get nearer and nearer, the two girls froze and gulped with anxiousness. As Megan turned her head the three mysterious figures disappeared in front of her eyes. “ARGHHHHH” she bellowed and yanked Daisy by the arm. Megan and Daisy started running… they ran for about 15 minutes non stop, and ended up in a place which they had never seen before. “Why on earth did you bring me here, did you see aliens, was a witch about to cast a spell on poor wittle Megan?” joked Daisy. Megan was quite offended, and pulled a face at Daisy to show her that it wasn’t funny. She was just glad that now the men had gone and she could concentrate on the internet problem. As Megan turned her head back, the three men reappeared, and before Daisy could say anything, Megan grabbed her arm once again and they began running.

As she ran, she was beginning to run out of breath; Daisy sensed her friend slowing down behind her and turned to look, rolling her eyes.

“Are you coming or not?!” She questioned angrily.

“I’ll catch up, you just go on ahead.” Megan replied stopping to catch her breath whilst cautiously peering behind in panic. Her friend nodded and shot off (she was always the sporty one of the two!). With Megan not noticing, one of the three men began to creep up behind her. He grabbed her shoulder, causing her to flinch. She spun around, only noticing snide smirk and rotten yellow teeth as he opened his mouth to speak.

“Hello…” He began creepily, “I’m Gary!” His excitable voice reminded her of fluffy unicorns. She was so confused… his intimidating appearance was nothing compared to his extremely high voice that reminded her of a six year old girl.

She went back home and got on her computer. She knew he was too old for her. He touched her, and she immediately told her mom. Her mother called the police, and they started tracking him on the computer. She was never allowed on Facebook again. A few years passed, and one day she found herself on Facebook again. By now, the man was out of jail began stalking her. One fall day, she was eating at Buffalo Wild Wings and he was there. She excused herself from the table to go wash her hands in the restroom. He was waiting. He kidnapped her, and she never saw her family again.
