War Versus Peace
War is a hammer.
It batters the life from all.
It cracks fragile hearts.
Peace is a hammer.
It can knock you into shape.
It cracks hearts open.
Writing tips from Dave – follow the rules or break the rules – you’ll have a poem either way:
War is a trigger,
it is waiting to be cocked,
finally, released.
Peace is an arrow
fired from a glowing heart,
now it will be free.
War’s a distraction;
it stops people from living,
and fulfilling dreams.
Peace barricades you,
from people who disobey,
and helps with your dreams.
War’s words of rage
I blow to strike down my foe,
Victory is here.
Peace is very brave,
though it knows our foe is strong,
still it keeps it’s faith.

War is a burden,
The pressure to fight and kill,
Destroys many men.
Peace is a burden,
It restrains you from living.
It keeps you captive.
Which would you prefer?
