Encouraging links between students and school staff around the globe
I don't care what they say, it's not my fault.
I know I was there and I know how it looks to the outside world, but I'll say it again, it's not my fault.
So, it isn't fair that I'm sitting here in this dark room, with these people (at least I think they are people) staring at me. They all think I'm to blame - and I know they ARE thinking that - but I'll say it one more time, IT'S NOT MY FAULT...
Comment by Natalie Sheehan on October 10, 2011 at 9:56 If I knew it would have gone that way, we would have never taken the path that lead to my friend’s disappearance. That traitorous path that would haunt me for the rest of my life.
I glanced up at the clock that now read half past six. I was supposed to be home half an hour ago, mum would flip again and I’d find myself grounded for the next two weeks. Sprinting like an Olympic gold medallist, I desperately tried to find my best friend so that I could make my way home. Lily, like always was sitting quietly in the corner reading her favourite book. Waving my hands, I finally caught her attention and she realised almost immediately, that we were late again!
Linking arms, we skipped down the hill, our conversation filled with rumours and gossip. On our normal route, it would take us twenty minutes to get home, but no, I needed to get home as quickly as I could. After much deliberation, we finally decided too take the forbidden shortcut through the council estate.
“Aren’t I popular, another message?” Lilly boosted in her usual way as she took her mobile out of her bag. I nodded in agreement, too distracted by the gang, who had been following us for the last five minutes. The gang began to surround us, the fear that I had been suppressing bubbled to the surface, my heart began to race as I desperately tried to find I way out of the situation that have formed in front of us.

I was now regretting taking the short cut through the council estate. They, were getting ready to attack like a pack of wolves when suddenly, it happened ,the first one attacked from behind with a crowbar. I heard the sound of sheer metal hitting the fragile human skull and shouting and screaming, they kept on shouting “you should have kept your distance we told you to keep your distance”! then suddenly, another one came from the tribe and then said “I am sorry lily you should have kept your distance”. Then came the massive boot to the head then suddenly a pedestrian with his pet pit bull came in running with his dog barking and roaring the pedestrian let the pit bull lose and the dog chased them right down to the end of the estate. I heard moaning and I turned my head to see the man leaning over Lily and saying
“Miss Miss are you ok?”
He then reached into his pocket and got his phone out that is when he saw me......

Her long brown hair covered in deep dark red stains, she had lost all colour in her battered face, a porcelain silk cloth covering her skin. Her brand new T shirt was no longer white and her jeans no longer straight. Her deep blue eyes stared at me longingly, tears ran down my cheeks.
The man’s dark brown eyes were fixed on me. I froze in fright, I felt I was about to enter a world of pain, I just couldn’t imagine what Lily was going through. I just stood there helplessly like the world around me had ended. I blanked out as my blonde hair rapidly flew through the wind and into my rosy face. I was still sobbing I suddenly felt weak and vulnerable. Then the tall grey haired man slowly made his way towards me. As he raised his hand I thought I knew what was coming, I was ready for whatever happened next. As he gently placed a hand on my shoulder I unclenched my body in surprise. I turned to look at him and his eyes somehow felt different, safer than before, as he said in a deep stern voice…

All I could do was sit there in disbelief, that I am being accused of my best friend's murder and disapperance. How could I have known that they were waiting for us? I am not Nancy Drew you know. I could tell by the way their eyes were fixed on me. They thought I was guilty, a murderer. No matter how many times they tell me it is my fault, I did this, I will deny it. Someone has to believe me. You have to believe me. It is not my fault, I will tell you again....
