Hi everyone hope you are all well and looking forward to half term if that is next week for you. I have some news to share first - for various reasons I will be leaving Woolwich Poly tomorrow. I haven't got a new job as yet but will be trying my hand at being an independent consultant, working with the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, Renaissance Learning and to be honest anyone else that wishes to book me to come into school and consult on libraries, web 2.0, learning gateways etc. It should be a very exciting time if a little scary and I'm looking forward to new challenges. However this doesn't mean I won't be doing the Write Path this year - no matter what I end up doing I will definitely not be letting go of my 'baby' lol and I will be organising this years event as usual. I'm feeling a little fragile today as people have already started to come in and say goodbye and how I'm going to leave 'my boys' tomorrow I just don't know - think a stop to buy lots of tissues tonight is definitely in order ;0) .

Secondly (and this is the exciting bit) the Write Path books arrived yesterday and they are absolutely wonderful!! We had to print two books in the end because of the sheer volume of text so there is one from Monday to Wednesday and one with Thursday and Friday's stories as well as the story written by the winning school, Elizabeth College in Guernsey. I have today sent a copy of the relevant book to each of you so look out for it! If you wish to order additional copies of either of the books you can do so by emailing Tamsin Rush at Little Books on this email :

tamsin@grosvenorhousepublishing.co.uk

The books are £5 each and once Tasmsin receives your email she will send you an invoice and on payment the books will be sent direct to you. Tamsin has been so very helpful and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank her for her patience and kindness!

I haven't noticed any typos yet but there are bound to be some so please excuse this - it was a massive proofreading job.

Hope you all love the books as much as I do - will be keeping in contact with you all via this ning of course!

Hi Bev
good luck in your new venture whatever it is. I am sure whatever you do it will be a success and if you do work for somebody else they will be lucky to have you. I am looking forward to seeing the book and also to this year's event.

Ooh, they look amazing, Bev! Am soo excited about seeing them!
Glad you are still doing WP this year. The students get soo much out of the innovative use of
technology as well as collaborating with others. And us librarians enjoy it, too! You rock 8yeNye for now, and try not to use too many tissues. Think of all those trees!

Books look fab - well done! Good luck for tomorrow and with your new ventures - grab some Rescue Remedy and use a lot!!! Honest it helps reduce the number of tissues needed! See you for Write Path 2010.

Congratulations on the charming book, it looks really cute. I don´t know what to say about you leaving the school. I believe GOOD LUCK is traditional, but I am more excited than just this, please come to visit us, we could really use your help. I don´t think we have the habit of caring or enjoying our libraries, so you could really improve some of it. But anyway, if you ever consider visiting the warm part of the globe, just give me a call and we shall arrange a very nice sunny ( beaches, coconut, hamocks... ) holiday for you.
Best wishes
Dhesi

The book looks amazing, and I can't wait to see our copy - it's the sort of thing we need to give a real boost to our kids. I'm also SO gald to hear you say you are not giving upon the Write Path!

Good luck for tomorrow, it's sad to be leaving 'your boys', but I'm sure there are lots of wonderful things waiting for you out there.

Hello Bev, hope things weren't too difficult for you the last week - I'm sure the boys won't forget you nor you the school. It has been goood getting to know you through this and I do hope that it will long continue and that everything goes well for you this year as you start afresh with things.
Congratulations on getting the book out, can't wait to hold our copy!
And...take Dhesi up on her offer!!!

Hi Bev, my book has just arrived!!
Can I just clear it that we only pay for additional copies or do we pay for the one we have been sent? Also - are the cartoon stories in the second book?

Many thanks, Lynda

Our copy of the book has just arrived! Wonderful to have it, and to have the students' work in print! Thank you, Bev, for the hours and hours of tedious hard slog that must have gone into the publication - we appreciate it immensely.
