Encouraging links between students and school staff around the globe
Well what a roller coaster 3 weeks this has been! Absolutely fantastic writing and poetry contributions, such talented young people, I feel very privileged to have been able to work with all of them. Difficult for me to pick up highlights (I love every minute of Write Path!) but my video calls with the boys and girls in Louisiana and New York shine out and the wonderful videos and photos that have appeared on the ning have made me smile every day. Grown ups day is going on as I write , my time slot is 2pm - 3pm and I'm nervous and excited - 6 paragraphs in an hour means a whirlwind of thinking.
Now the long job of proof reading the stories and poems and getting them ready for publishing in the books begins, as always if anyone can spare a little time to help with this please do contact me - I would be eternally grateful!
The voting form is all set up and you can start to vote from today, it will close at the end of next Friday 26th October. Please please do encourage your students to vote and do vote yourself (that includes any members who have not taken part or are writers - your votes are important!) , as usual you are not allowed to vote for your own school. This will enable me to send out prizes to schools at half term, fantastic prizes they are too, 2 Neo 2s for both the Secondary and Primary winning schools, signed books for the Poetry winners ,a signed coy of Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick for the Grown Ups winner and more. The voting form is here:
It's going to be very hard to choose but I can't wait to see those votes come in.
Looking forward to a quiet weekend of recovery, when I will go back over the fab blog entries from individual schools and students, thank you so much for making this Write Path the biggest and best ever - roll on next year, it's been a blast!
Well done Bev - we enjoyed the whole experience as much as ever. Fab u lous!
Thanks Rosie!
Very impressed by the fireworks too LOL xx
Ah Karen you know I like a bit of razzmatazz!
Well done Bev! Thanks for setting this all up again. Our school as a whole loves it - especially the participants. The students were so excited to be able to read the 'rest' of their stories the next day.
Hi Bev,
Do the students vote individually or as a group? Thanks for your efforts; Write Path is a fantastic initiative!
Thanks for your comments Stacia & Robyn , when it comes to voting your students can vote individually but would probably be better to vote as a group, after discussing their choices.
Thanks Bev,
That's much easier to manage. I look forward to discussing their opinions with them.
Hi Bev
Just to check, we should read all the stories, and then vote for our favourite paragraph overall?
