Good morning everyone hope you've had a good start to the week. I am just starting preparations for this years Write Path and am a little excited about it! Firstly the bad news - unfortunately due to various factors (ning starting to charge, my change of circumstances, postage etc) I am going to have to charge an amount of £25 per school to take part in the event this year. I'm really sorry about this as I didn't want to but it's unavoidable and hopefully it is a low enough charge for a school to pay. This will include one free copy of the book your paragraphs were published in naturally and a set of certificates if requested. The fee is payable on registering for the event (and I would advise you to do this as soon as you can - although we have more places this year I think they will be snapped up fast). You can do so in one of two ways, there is a paypal button on my website here or alternatively you can send a cheque, please contact me via the ning for the address. I can provide an invoice for those that need it, again let me know.

The Write Path will run over two weeks this year with 8 days being secondary (11 - 12 year olds) and 2 days for primary schools (10 - 11 years). Dates will be from 4th - 15th October and the 7th October will be a poetry day as it is National Poetry Day here in the UK, we will stick with their theme of Home. We will work with 8 schools a day the same as last year. I have already had 20 authors sign up and we have some very talented people as always ;0) . We will also have a video story again, I think that was very successful last year (not to mention hilarious) but I will run a separate event for comics at a later time. I won't advertise to other schools for a fortnight to allow previous entrants to have a head start - hope you will all want to be involved again this year - it's going to be awesome!

Any queries you know where I am - on the ning!

Count me in too - and for our primary school so that's £50 for an invoice please (ignore my email -i hadn't seen you were doing primary too). We are also happy to sponsor a school in a developing country who maybe can't afford to take part. I know that traditionally we have had international and private schools but if there is anyone out there who wants their kids to have a go and can't afford it then let me know!

Hi Bev
Can you fill me in on how the primary side will work? Which dates are you setting aside for primary? Will the primary students also be a part of the poetry branch? Thanks. Nerine

Hi Nerine the primary days will run in the same way as the secondary events and they will be on the 8th and the 15th. Poetry day is 7th so no this day will be a secondary day I'm afraid. Hope this helps!

I like kgarnett idea of sponsoring a school in a developing country. Is this an idea that we could go with??
