Encouraging links between students and school staff around the globe
Hope everyone that was off last week had a good holiday. The stories and poems are being proof read at the moment so I should be able to get the books under way soon. It is now a very important time for Write Path though - time to vote for your favourite writers and poets! Please do make sure that at the very least you vote but you can of course also get as many of your students to vote as possible (please remind them that any votes for their own school will be discounted!).…

I don't care what they say, it's not my fault.
I know I was there and I know how it looks to the outside world, but I'll say it again, it's not my fault.
So, it isn't fair that I'm sitting here in this dark room, with these people (at…

Kazia Moon is the coolest girl in Year Nine. She has honey-blonde hair and creamy skin and a way of tweaking her school uniform so it looks like something off the Paris catwalk. The teachers think she’s smart and sweet; the boys think she’s hot; the girls... well, most of them just wish they could be like her.
Kazia Moon is…

Little Felipe’s pass from midfield was weighted perfectly. The old leather football bumped across the ground kicking up dust and arrived, miraculously, right at Juan’s feet. Juan nudged the ball with his right foot and pushed off with his left, darting sideways. The manoeuvre took Carlos – who was two years older than Juan and by popular opinion by far the best footballer in the school – completely by…

The river was in the way – it was the only escape route I had to get away from the vampires. So the question was – did I jump in or not?

Chestnut, with white-enamelled hooves, and fully eight feet tall: a centaur was galloping through the forest. His name was Valis, and in this part of the world of Aramanth he was a scholar and a leader. Alone and afraid, his powerful equine flanks shone, his close-curled auburn chest hair sticky with the journey’s sweat. Was he really going to do this? The instructions for his task had come from the highest…

Feeling a little sad tonight - only Grown Ups day tomorrow then Write Path over for another year ;0( . Mind you what a fantastic event it has been this year - yes ok have had some stressful moments (always do!) but it has been so rewarding they fade in my memory. Sometimes I think Write Path is a little like giving birth......you forget the pain afterwards and only remember the joy LOL! Standard of writing from the students has been top notch, and you can feel their enjoyment in every word.…

Wow, that was fun and a bit of a last minute panic, and I think Bev thought things were going astray when nothing had been posted until the last 10 minutes!
However this was because the kids were so busy editing , refining, and suggesting further plot ramifications that they didn't want to stop!
As a class they all agreed it was an amazing opportunity, and they particularly liked the idea that their stories had begun in Australia and travelled across England before being…

On my first birthday a speeding car crashed through the wall of our house and crashed back out again, narrowly missing the cot where I lay sleeping. Or so I am told.
On my third birthday a bolt of lightning struck the roof of our house and the telly exploded, narrowly missing the rug where I sat playing. I have no…

I found it in the cupboard under the stairs, in the dark, at the back. I’d volunteered to tidy the cupboard – anything to put off doing my homework – and there it was in the dust. Torn and crumpled. If I hadn’t shone the torch at that exact spot I wouldn’t have noticed it, Wouldn’t have known what I know now.
But would I have…

It’s not something anyone would expect to lose; ever! So how could Jacob have been prepared for the day when his vanished?
And is vanished the most appropriate word? Had Jacob been his careless self, and simply misplaced it? Or had someone, or perhaps worse still, some thing waited until he’d slept and then STOLEN…

I needed some kind of holiday job, so I decided to try the old shop, just in case. Maybe the owner would be old too, and wouldn’t notice I was a bit too young to be asking.
The shop-front didn’t look promising. Trays of broken junk lay at the entrance, and bundles of tattered magazines, all tied with string, held the door…

“Come on you slugs! Faster! The Pharaoh is due to visit any day now. Keep it moving!”
We gave an extra heave as the crack of the overseer’s whip sounded loud in our ears. I was exhausted; my lips cracked and bleeding, and my skin burning under the relentless sun. My tongue felt swollen in my mouth. Every muscle in my body ached, but that was not the worst of it. No. The killer was the dust: the…

Was a little tight at the end but we managed to get them all uploaded nearly in time!
Was as always a wonderful experience which I'm hopefully going to write up completely this afternoon with how we run it in our school. I'm also going to upload some pics too!
Thanks again Bev for organising!

“How do I get here?”
The voice startled me. I’ve had trouble hearing for the last few years, so maybe the boy had already asked me once and I hadn’t noticed. I looked round to make sure he was talking to me. Of course he was. Everybody else had hurried out of the station while I had to take stairs more…

Everyone agreed that whatever had crashed into Atlantic had been huge.
‘So, it wasn’t a car then?’ asked Ravi, stuffing a Jaffa cake into his mouth.
‘Nope,’ said Blake excitedly, ‘Look!’…
