There was a knock at the door. Carly knew she shouldn’t open it really. Dad would be home in a minute and he would know what to do.

Carly held her breath. Then the knocking started again, only more urgently now.

“Come on Carly, open up.” It was all right. It was Dad.

She reached up and turned the lock.

“We’ve got to hide. They’re coming.”

Carly stared at her dad. What was it? Were they going to a fancy dress party or something? Instead of his normal chinos and scruffy jumper he was wearing a velvet cloak, a black mask and long leather boots.

“Who’s after us? Why are you dressed like that?

“Ssh! Switch the light off. Hide behind the chair.

Carly did as she was told. Dad moved over to the window and peeped out from behind the curtain. “Keep quiet and keep still.”

He breathed in sharply.  “Brace yourself.”

There was bright flash of light and a loud bang. The house shook.

Carly was breathless. She was confused.

“What was that?”. “Who’s coming?”. “Why are you dressed like that?”.

Carly saw her dad pushing a bookshelf. Behind the shelf there was a door.

“What are you doing?”

“Ssh!. Carly this is the only exception for you to go through this door. Do you understand”

Carly nodded silently. As they moved forward to the door Carly was frightened.

Suddenly there was a loud rumble. Dad opened the door and Carly was in shock!

They had transported to a place with red trees, blue grass and a green sky.

As Carly was looking at the sights she noticed her dad walk to a tree. There was a pile of leaves that stood out from the rest.

Dad brushed the pile of leaves away and Carly saw a circle shaped trapdoor.

“Hold on” said Dad as they jumped through the trapdoor. They landed in an underground sorcerer’s laboratory.

Dad started to take off his velvet cloak, black mask and long leather boots.

Carly turned around and saw…...

a ugly small green wizard stirring a cauldron in the middle of the room.

“Hello Jack” said dad “we need to hide!”

“Why do you need to hide?” asked Jack the wizard

“The wicked witch of Doom has sent her armies of robots to steal my clothes and sell it on eBay to get a magical ring.” explained dad.

Carly was confused, “this is really weird”

“I will explain later! We have to leave”

Jack the wizard said “come with me” He opened his door to the outside but suddenly Carly saw the evil witch.

The witch called her robots to grab Carly and dad. They grabbed them firmly and put them into a sack.

The wizard tried to help but the robot took his wand and was left powerless.

The robots faded away like a cloud along with the witch laughing her evil laugh as the final sound.

Petrified, Carly tried to untie the knot but it was knotted too tightly, for even a strong bold man could not undo it. The sack was also bolted and there was no escape what so ever. Everyone was in distress but Carly was so brave she kept persevering but again she could not undo it. Just then, she noticed a small little hole in the sack!  Nervously, she peeked through and saw a red and yellow circus tent and the witch and the robots were just about to go in through the open door. Green smoke approached the top of the tent. Carly knew it was going to end in a bad way. Frantically, she began to tear the scratchy sack apart…

Creating a hole in it big enough for them to fit through. She turned her neck to look at her petrified father. She told him her plan and in the blink of an eye they leapt out of the sack as fast as a leopard leaping on a deer. They grabbed their emergency bag from their secret lair and sprinted furiously towards the exit. Carly’s Dad was now running back to the circus tent that, previously, they had tried to get away from.

When they had got past the robot guards they searched everywhere from top to bottom amongst the gooey, acrid, green smoke for the witch. Then in a flash the witch immediately appeared in front of them and cackled her evil laugh and exclaimed “Ha! I knew that you would come back to catch me.” Carly suddenly knew that they were in trouble as the guards surrounded them…

Rapidly, the spine-chilling robot surrounded them. Carly could feel her heart beating out of her chest.

“Look over there Carly there’s an opening!” whispered Dad. Carly looked where her Dad was pointing.

“I will be right behind you,” lied Dad

Suddenly, Carly saw the opening that her Dad was talking about. She snuck out of the sweaty circle the robot guards had made with their solid, hard bodies. Then she ran. Her dad tried to get out but he got stuck and overwhelmed by the robots. Carly continued running without knowing that her Dad was left behind. One of the robots realised that she had escaped. Carly could hear someone running behind her. Then it clicked. She hadn’t realised where she was. She stopped just before she fell off a life threatening cliff. Clunk. Clunk. She turned around but it was too late. She felt strong, muscular, metal hands push her chest and then the whole world turned black. It was devastating. It was the end. THUD!
