What about Poppy
Eleven year old Allie has a lovely cat, who she loves, called Poppy but mum and dad have decided they’re all going to move out of the city to the countryside where dad has a new job. Allie’s quite worried about having lots of new friends and a new school but then the day before they leave Grandma says “What about Poppy? Cats don’t like moving, what if she runs away?”
“Don’t worry grandma, will take Poppy with us, ”Allie said. “I’m sorry sweetie, Poppy can’t travel with us” Her grandma said. “We might get a dog thought when we move,” her mum said.
“But I don’t want a dog, I want Poppy,” Allie cried.
“Do we have to move?”
“Yes, I’m sorry sweetie.”
Allie wanted to cry with Poppy.
“Where is Poppy?” she asked.
“Mum, you left the door open, what if she ran away?” she cried.
Allie ran outside. “I don’t see her anywhere.”
“ Don’t worry we’ll find her” her dad said.
“Poppy, Poppy ,Poppy, come here girl.” They called.
They looked all night for but no luck.
On the way to school while Allie was looking out the window, Allie says, “Mum, it’s Poppy with that little girl.’’
They went up to the girl and asked for Poppy, but she said they couldn’t have her because it was hers now. Her name is Rose.

As she crossed the busy road, tears streamed down her bright face, there was an almighty …SPLAT! As she was hit by a cherry red lotus, darkness submerged her.
When Allie awoke, she found herself hovering over her limp and lifeless body; she was a pale ghost…
As soon as she had finished marvelling at her new self, she was back in hot pursuit of Ruby. After 5 minutes of chasing, Ruby suddenly turned into a pitch black tunnel…

DING DONG! Allie heard the midnight bell ring, her body started trembling and sweating with fear. She felt torpid and weightless. Allie saw a floating glow coming towards her it came in slow motion ,then she became brave and summed up all her courage to save her cat. Allie followed the light which lead her to a grate she continued to follow the light which lead Allie into the a concrete wall but above her was another grate. Allie took off in a flash. Soon, she was in the city next to her old house she saw Ruby quickly dart behind Allie’s old house. Allie sped off after Ruby. As Allie turned a corner right there was a figure.” Who are you?”Allie questioned.
“Why were you following me?” The mysterious figure questioned.
“Ruby!” Allie said, feeling rage in her ghostly body.
“Allie, I will only say it once you can have your cat back but you will stay as a ghost otherwise you can leave it with me and go back into your human body.
Allie questioned herself she couldn’t touch anything so what use would her cat be to her when she get’s it back. What will Allie do?

Allie loved her cat so much and didn't want to leave her behind but if she stayed as a ghost she wouldn't see her family again.
Tears ran down her face. But they didn't feel or smell like tears. She realised that it was actually Poppy licking her face. She woke up to the sweet smell of pancakes cooking. It was only a dream after all, she was feeling incredibly relieved.
Allie went down stairs with Poppy at her heels and saw her mum cooking pancakes for breakfast. ''Mum, I had a nightmare that we lost Poppy''said Allie. She told her mum about her dream. Allie and her mum decided that they would make a cat run so that Poppy wouldn't escape. ''Thank you mum I am very grateful that you will make a cat run for Poppy I would dreadfully hate to lose Poppy for real. I am ok with moving houses as long as Poppy can come.'' said Allie.
